Wii Fit Plus blog: Time to saddle up
My name is Louise; I am 33 years old and live in North London with my husband and our three-year-old son, Kieran
As a fully fledged Wii Fitter, I was intrigued to see what Wii Fit Plus would have to offer, albeit I must admit my mantra is normally 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it'.
First 'thumbs up' came when, much to my relief, I discovered the Wii Fit Plus remembers and transfers your entire history from the Wii Fit, so I was able to start where I left off.
Having an initial peek around the Wii Fit Plus, it soon became clear there are many more features and exercises to choose from.
One that immediately leapt out at me was the calorie counter function.
As burning calories is one of my main exercise goals, I was keen to learn how much I was getting rid of and, more importantly, which exercises would be best for me to do.
In a nutshell, the calorie counter allows you to see how many calories you burned during each individual exercise. Then, when you've finished your session, you can see the total number of minutes spent and calories burned, in your personal piggy bank.
I found the new cycling game particularly good for burning calories.
Also, in comparison to my usual 'calorie burner' on the Wii Fit (jogging), the cycling is far more fun as you have to navigate your bike round a set route. I found I became so engrossed in the game element and steering in the right direction that I forgot I was exercising.
Next up, I'm going to get the rest of the family involved...
